Surakarta, 18 September 2026 — ILSA Chapter UNS successfully held its First Gathering 2026 as an introductory event for its newest members. The event served as a platform to welcome new members into the organization while providing them with an overview of ILSA Chapter UNS, its values, divisions, academic environment, and various activities.
The First Gathering was designed to provide participants with a comprehensive introduction to the organization and to familiarize them with the opportunities and experiences that await them throughout their membership. Through a series of informative and interactive sessions, participants were encouraged to engage with fellow members and gain a better understanding of the organization they have become part of.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from the President of ILSA Chapter UNS, who expressed his appreciation for the presence of the newest members and conveyed his enthusiasm for welcoming them into the organization. The opening remarks highlighted the significance of beginning a new journey within ILSA Chapter UNS and encouraged participants to actively engage in the opportunities available to them. The session also introduced the spirit and values upheld by the organization, emphasizing participation, collaboration, and continuous development as important aspects of the members’ journey.
Following the opening session, the Project Manager introduced the series of activities and provided an overview of the purpose and objectives of the First Gathering. This session allowed participants to become familiar with the event’s flow and provided a framework for the activities that followed. Through the explanation, participants were able to engage more effectively throughout the event while gaining a clearer understanding of the experiences prepared for them as new members of ILSA Chapter UNS.
The participants were subsequently introduced to the various divisions within ILSA Chapter UNS, including their respective roles, responsibilities, and areas of contribution. The session provided a broader understanding of how each division works together in supporting the organization’s programs and objectives. It also allowed participants to identify areas that correspond with their individual interests, skills, and potential for development. Through this introduction, the newest members gained an initial perspective on the diverse opportunities for contribution available within ILSA Chapter UNS.
As part of the academic component of the event, participants also attended an introductory session on Public and Private International Law. The session provided a foundational overview of these two significant areas within international legal studies and introduced several fundamental concepts and distinctions. This academic session reflected ILSA Chapter UNS’s commitment to fostering intellectual development and encouraging members to broaden their understanding of international law. It also provided an opportunity for participants to explore different perspectives within the field and develop a deeper interest in international legal studies.
The First Gathering continued, with a get-to-know-each-other session involving the newest members and the board members of ILSA Chapter UNS. The activity was designed to facilitate interaction and create opportunities for participants to become more familiar with one another. Beyond introductions, the session encouraged participants to establish communication and develop initial connections with fellow members and board members, providing an important foundation for collaboration and a supportive organizational environment throughout their membership.
Adding to the series of activities, the event also featured the announcement of the Internal Competition teams. The announcement introduced the newest members to an activity that emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, and active participation. Through the competition, participants will have the opportunity to work collectively, apply their abilities, and gain valuable experience in a collaborative environment. The activity also serves as an opportunity to strengthen interaction among members and encourage greater engagement within ILSA Chapter UNS.
The ILSA Chapter UNS First Gathering 2026 marked more than an introduction to the organization; it represented the beginning of a new chapter for its newest members.
